We work on a wide range of vehicles including European brands. If you’re unsure, just ask us.
What wheel balancing actually does
Wheel balancing makes sure the weight is evenly distributed around your wheel and tyre. Even a small imbalance can cause vibrations at certain speeds (often around 80–110 km/h).
During balancing, we use a machine to measure where the imbalance is, then fit small weights to correct it. The result is a smoother ride, better comfort, and more even tyre wear.
Common signs you need wheel balancing
- Steering wheel shake at higher speeds
- Vibration through the seat or floor
- Tyres wearing unevenly (especially “cupping” or scalloped wear)
- Car feels rough on the highway even on a smooth road
- Vibration after fitting new tyres or after a puncture repair
If you’re feeling any of these, book in for a check. Contact us.

We balance your wheels properly and check for common issues that can cause vibration.
If we spot something like a damaged tyre, bent rim, or suspension issue, we’ll explain it clearly before doing anything else.
- Inspect tyres and wheels for obvious damage
- Machine balance and fit weights where required
- Re-check balance to confirm the correction
- Advice on next steps if vibration is caused by something else
If you also need tyres, we can help with that too. See our tyre replacement service.

How long wheel balancing takes
In many cases, wheel balancing takes around 30-60 minutes depending on the vehicle and how many wheels are being balanced.
If you’re also getting new tyres fitted, balancing is usually done as part of the job.
We’ll confirm timing when you book so you know what to expect.
Why Wheel Balancing Matters
Driving with unbalanced wheels can make your car feel uncomfortable and can wear tyres faster.
It may also put extra stress on suspension and steering components over time.
Balancing is a simple service that helps your tyres last longer and keeps your ride smooth.
Pair Wheel Balancing With the Right Services
For best results, wheel balancing is often paired with:
- Wheel alignment (alignment affects tyre wear and steering feel)
- New tyres (balanced from the start for a smoother ride)
- Wheel rotation (helps tyres wear evenly)
- Diagnosis if your car pulls to one side
If you’re not sure what you need, we can check it and recommend the simplest fix first.
Wheel Balancing for Petrol and Diesel Vehicles
We balance wheels for petrol and diesel vehicles, including daily drivers, family SUVs, 4x4s, and light commercial vehicles.
Whether it’s a small vibration or a strong shake at speed, we’ll help you get it sorted.
Quick FAQ
Is wheel balancing the same as wheel alignment?
No. Balancing corrects uneven weight in the wheel/tyre to stop vibration. Alignment adjusts wheel angles so the car tracks straight and tyres wear evenly. If you need alignment, check our wheel alignment page.
How often should wheels be balanced?
A good rule is whenever you fit new tyres, notice vibration, or every 10,000-15,000 km. It’s also smart after a puncture repair or if you’ve hit a pothole hard.
Can unbalanced wheels cause uneven tyre wear?
Yes, it can contribute to uneven wear and “cupping”. Alignment and suspension condition also play a big role, so we’ll let you know if we spot anything else.
What if balancing doesn’t fix the vibration?
If vibration continues, it may be caused by tyre damage, a bent wheel, brake issues, or suspension wear. We can help diagnose it, just book in.
